A Cultural Delegation from Romania and Serbia Visited SZU

    On the afternoon of March 27th, a cultural delegation from Romania and Serbia visited SZU. Prof. Tao Yitao and other superintendents met with them. Tao Yitao is the Vice Secretary of SZU Party Committee, the Director of China Center for Special Economic Zone Research  (hereinafter “CCSEZR”) and the Dean of Belt and Road International Cooperation Development Institute (Shenzhen) (hereinafter “BRICDI”).


Firstly, Tao Yitao introduced SZU briefly, with a special introduction of CCSEZR. Established in 2001, CCSEZR has five research institutes, including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Research Institute, Population and Resources Economic Institute, Capital Market Research Institute, Human Capital and Social Security Institute, and Innovation and Industrial Development Institute. It has master's program, doctoral and post-doctoral program in the field of Theoretical Economics, gathering 14 experts or chief experts from Special Economic of State Council and National Social Science Fund. Moreover, since its establishment, a number of high-level and distinctive research has been achieved. For example, it has hosted some worldwide influential academic forums and conferences successfully, including China Special Economic Zone Forum and World Economic Zone Forum, which attracted lots of well-known experts and scholars to participate; it has published the Blue Book of China Special Economic Zone Development Report, China Special Economic Zone Research Journal in both Chinese and English; it has also established academic relationships with many foreign resource units and universities, and signed a Party Government Cadres cooperation agreement with Hanoi, Vietnam and an agreement with Cambodian Royal Institution, etc. She also gave them a brief introduction of BRICDI. This institute is a non-governmental think tank, which was co-sponsored by SZU and Shenzhen Jinglan Company. Jinglan Company donated 120 million RMB to build a building named Wu Yuzhang Lou in Houhai campus. Besides, the institute has also set up other programs as the Belt and Road Scholarship, Entrepreneur Alliance, overseas academy of “Belt and Road Initiative”, etc.

On behalf of the delegation, minister’s assistant thought highly of the remarkable achievements that CCSEZR and BRICDI had made. This assistant was from the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Serbia. He indicated his great pleasure to carry out more exchanges and cooperation with us. Subsequently, principles from four universities of Romania and Serbia showed their universities’ characteristics and strengths with slides, expecting to cooperate with SZU in the future.
