President Li Qingquan met with General Consul of Singapore Consulate in Guangzhou

On the morning of Jan. 12th, President Li Qingquan met with Mr. Cai Denghe and Mrs. Ye Shihong, who are the General Consul and the Vice General Consul of Singapore Consulate in Guangzhou respectively. Representatives from International Office and Centre for Basic Laws of Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions also attended the meeting.

 

President Li Qingquan extended his warm welcome to them, and gave them a brief introduction of the development of our university. The cooperation with Singapore was also mentioned, such as Collaborative Innovation Centre for Optoelectronic Science Technology and Center of Singapore Studies. He also expressed his hope to strengthen the student communication with National University of Singapore, and to establish academic connection with Nanyang Technological University.

 

Mr. Cai said that Singapore highly valued the cooperation with China, especially with Guangdong. The development of Shenzhen and its experience in the cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao was well worth learning. The Consulate was readily to help to build a broader platform of cooperation between Shenzhen University and universities in Singapore.

 

Later on, Mr. Cai had an informal discussion with professor Zhou Pingxue and professor Zhang Dinghuai, both of whom are from Centre for Basic Laws of Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions. And the discussion mainly focused on the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the economic and trade, people's well-being and education of Hong Kong.
