News Update

On December 1st, the professor from College of Medicine of Harvard gave an academic lecture on “Can light treat all the diseases” for Health Science Center in SZU.

 

On December 1st,  Dapeng Oliver Wu, the professor of University of Florida delivered an academic speech on “Unification of Deep Learning and Reasoning” for students at College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

 

On December 2nd, Dr. Hai Xiao who works in Clemson University conducted a seminar named “Microwave and Photonic Sensors” for College of Optoelectronic Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 2nd, Dr. Huang Yingying from College of Medicine of Harvard held a seminar entitled “Photodynamic therapy for cancer and antimicrobial inactivation” for College of Optoelectronic Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 2nd, Carlos Artemio Coello Coello who comes from CINVESTAV-IPN delivered a lecture on “The development of Multi-objective optimization based on hybrid evolutionary algoritm” for College of Computer Science and Software Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 3rd, Professor Jingjing Xu, the president of College of Business in Plymouth University, visited Nantes Business School at SZU, relative principals received the guest.

 

On December 3rd, Professor Jan Schnupp,who comes from City University of Hong Kong held an academic lecture on “Academic reports on the research of hearing mechanism and cochlear implants” for College of Information Engineering.

 

On December 3rd, assistant professor of Bond University in Australia gave an academic speech on “On the occupation times in a delayed Sparre Andersen risk model with exponential claims” for College of Mathematics and Statistics of SZU.

 

On December 4th, Michael Rotondi, an eminent architect from America, hold an academic lecture on “Matter to Light” for School of Architecture and Urban Planning of SZU.

 

On December 6th, professor Gerard C.L.Wong from California NanoSystems Institute in University of California, Los Angeles delivered an academic lecture on “Engineering and physics meet infectious diseases and the immune system” for Institute for Advanced Study of SZU.

 

On December 6th, Dr. Jizhou Li who works for The Chinese University of Hong Kong conducted an academic lecture entitled “PURE-LET Image Deconvolution” for College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 6th,  Alan Krueger, the former deputy mayor of Hague, Netherlands gave an academic lecture on “ The relationship between China and Europe under the background of the Belt and Road” in China Center for Special Economic Zone Research in SZU.

 

 

From December 6th to 7th, professor Ishida and postdoctoral student Wang Tiao who are both from University of Tokyo as well as Dr. Dai Jianguo from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University visited SZU. During the trip, professor Ishida gave an academic lecture on “Numerical Simulation of Early Age Deformation and Cracking of RC Structures with Full-3D Multi-scale and Multi-physical Integrated Analysis” for College of Civil Engineering of SZU.

 

 

On December 7th, Martin Bech, the consul of Danish Consulate accompanied by nine of his colleagues visited SZU. Relative principals from International Office, College of Design, College of Management and Business Incubator Center for students welcomed the guests.

On December 7th, David Finegold, the president of Chatham University, visited SZU. Vice president Wang Hui of SZU attended the meeting. Representatives from International Office, Health Science Center and Normal College received the guests.

 

On December 7th, professor Sammy Lap Ip Chan from The University of New South Wales gave an academic lectureon “Energy Storage Solutions for Remote Area Power Supply Systems”for College of Materials of SZU.

 

On December 7th, professor Ye YIguang from National Tsing Hua University held a seminar entitled “ Multi-function microbubble in ultrasonic diagnosis and treatment integration” for Health Science Center of SZU.

 

On December 8th, professor Lin Jiansheng, gave an academic lecture on “Wakefulness: Multiple Facets and Behavior-Dependent Control” for College of Psychology and Sociology of SZU. Professor Lin is from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), and he is also the director of “Brain alertness mechanism” lab in Neuroscience Research Centre which is directly subordinates to the University of Lyon.

 

On December 8th, professor Karen Sprey gave an academic lecture on “aytime and nighttime behavior of the child: a neuropsychological perspective” for College of Psychology and Sociology of SZU. Professor Karen is from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), and he is also the researcher of “Brain alertness mechanism” lab in Neuroscience Research Centre which is directly subordinates to the University of Lyon.

 

On December 8th, Prof. Shubhra Tripathi, Director of English Language Department of Governmental Postgraduate College and Higher Education Academy of Bhopal held a lecture on “Sinicization and India: Review and prospect” for College of Humanities of SZU.

 

On December 8th, professor C.-C. Jay Kuo from University of Southern California conducted an academic lecture on “Why Deep Learning Works so Well” for College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 8th, professor Zhou Xiaofang from University of Queensland delivered a lecture on “Data Analysis of Microgrid” for College of Computer Science and Software Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 8th, Dr. Milan KONECNY from Masaryk University delivered an academic lecture on “Geoinformatics and Cartography: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” for School of Architecture and Urban Planning of SZU.

 

From December 8th to 13th, professor Liu Hongyi, party secretary of SZU, accompanied by four of his colleagues visited Chinese Culture UniversityTzu Chi UniversityChihlee University of Technology on invitation. In the meantime, they attended the celebration of fifty-three anniversary of Chihlee University of Technology. SZU had a deep discussion with the three universities on some cooperative programs including the cultivation of talents, scientific cooperation, humanities and academic exchanges. They reached an agreement and achieved a lot.

 

On December 9th, College of medicine of SZU signed a cooperation memorandum with the Medical Center of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

 

On December 9th, Dr. Wang Yongrui from Texas A&M University, held a seminar on “Linear and nonlinear optical properties of graphene” for College of Physics and Energy of SZU.

 

On December 9th, Dr. Mohsen from The University of Newcastle gave an academic lecture entitled “Cyber-security and State Estimation for Interconnected Linear Systems” for College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 10th, Dr. Wu Zhigen the founder and the CEO of Papergoing in Canada, delivered a speech on “The writing and publish of SCI papers “for College of Civil Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 10th, associate professor Li Guodong from University of Hong Kong conducted a lecture about “Hybrid quantile regression estimation for time series models with conditional heteroscedasticity” for Institute of Statistical Science of SZU.

 

From December 10th to 11th, 2017, the “International seminar on Macromolecular and condensed matter physics” was held in SZU.

 

On December 12th, professor Yew-Soon Ong from Nanyang Technological University gave an academic speech on “Multitask Optimization” for College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 13th, professor C.W. Park from University of Southern California held a seminar on “Brand Strategy in the Fourth Industrial Revolution Stage” for College of Management of SZU.

 

On December 13th, professor Guo Liangwen from communication research institute in National Chiao Tung University held a lecture on “Minority and the digitization of nonmaterial cultural heritage: the experience of Yami” for College of Mass Communication of SZU.

 

On December 13th, the Russian contemporary playwright, Oleg bogaev gave an academic lecture on” Russian drama studies in the contemporary era” for Normal College of SZU.

 

On December 13th, Islington College from Nepal, the delegation from Renxing international education which included four persons visited SZU, related principals of International Office received the guests.

 

On December 13th, twenty six students from Liege International Class of College of Management in SZU together with students from HEC Business School of University of Liege conducted a seminar about management case analysis.  

 

On December 14th, Dr. Hoi-To Wai from Arizona State University delivered a lecture on “Identifying latent network structures embedded in high-dimensional data — challenges and solutions” for College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 15th, Kerstin Rotzler, dean of Research and Technology Transformation Center at Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, accompanied by two of his colleagues paid a visit to SZU. Representatives from International Office, Department of Science and Technology received the guests.

 

On December 15th, a educational delegation of seven from Hungary visited SZU. The members came from Szchenyi István University, University of California, TSPC, Kürt Zrt, MZK Consulting, and Hungarian Technical Center. Relative principals from International Office, College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, School of Architecture and Urban Planning and College of Civil Engineering welcomed the guests. 

 

On December 15th, Jacob Mentz, dean of International Office in University College Lillebaelt, together with two of his colleagues visited SZU. Representatives from International Office, College of Physics and Energy received the guests.

 

On December 15th, professor Yang Xiaoqi from Hong Kong Polytechnic University conducted a seminar on “First and Second-order Optimality Conditions via Exact Penalty Functions” for College of Mathematics and Statistics of SZU.

 

On December 16th, professor Xiao Shilun from the Geography Department at the University of Tennessee gave a lecture entitled “Space-Time GIS and Human Dynamics” for School of Architecture and Urban Planning of SZU.

 

On December 16th, Ambartcum Robertovich Galustov, president of National Normal university of Alamarville in Russia, visited SZU with Sergei Pelevin, the department head of Foreign affairs. Professor Li Qingquan, president of SZU, professor Tao Yitao party secretary, and professor Du Hongbiaovice President, met with them. They discussed the information technology in education, the economic problem between China and Russia, the exchange of foreign language teaching experience, the cultural communication of undergraduate, the cooperation of Mathematical Olympiad and science and academic exchange and so on. Their discussion laid the foundation for further cooperation in the future.

 

On December 16th, H.E. JUDr. Bedřich Kopecký, ambassador of Czech Republic, visited SZU with three colleagues of his. President Li Qingquan met with them. They have a passionate discussion on exchange and cooperation.

 

On December 17th, professor Mo-Yuen Chow from North Carolina State University gave a lecture on “The collaborative and distributed management of Smart micro grid energy” for College of Mechatronics and Control Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 17th, professor Wei Chali, an eminent Tibetologist, Buddhist master, and Sinologist, held a lecture on “The early Buddhist culture and the Belt and the Road” for Institution of Social Sciences of SZU. He is also the president of International Buddhist College, and the lifetime fellow of Académie RoyaledeBelqigue,.

 

On December 19th, associate professor Ni Dong from Allen Institute for Brain Science conducted an academic lecture on “Brain Big Imaging Data” for Health Science Center of SZU.

 

On December 20th, professor Nicholas Xuanlai Fang from Department of Mechanical Engineering in Massachusetts Institute of Technology delivered a lecture on “Structural meta-material--from adjustable thermal expansion to the structure of microvessel” for   College of Optoelectronic Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 20th, professor Zhang Hua from Nanyang Technological University gave a report on “Crystal Phase-Controlled Synthesis of Novel Noble Metal Nanomaterials” for College of Materials of SZU.

 

 On December 21st, Dr. Pu Li from Department of Anthropology in University of Washington delivered an academic lecture on “Field work in China” for College of Psychology and Sociology of SZU.

 

On December 21st, Roober Foreman the Dutch installation, sculptor and print artist, gave a speech on “Buildings as metaphor” for School of Architecture and Urban Planning of SZU.  

 

On December 21st, the delegation of universities from Central and Eastern Europe visited SZU. President Li Qingquan and party secretary Tao Yitao met with them. They had a deep discussion on exchange programs, scientific cooperation and other projects. The universities included University SingidunumSerbia, Széchenyi István University(Hungary), University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Banat “King Mihai I of Romania”(Romania), Academy of Fine Arts Lodz(Poland), Polytechnic University Bucharest(Romania), “Bioterra”University Bucharest(Romania), Latvia University(Latvia) etc.

 

On December 22nd, associate professor Julian Lamb from Chinese University of Hong Kong gave an academic lecture on “Shakespeare and the art of persuasion” for School of Foreign Language of SZU.

 

On December 23rd, Dr. Gao Guanhui, the associate professor from Leibniz Solid State Physics Institute, delivered a lecture on “Tailoring structural characterizations of nanoarchitechtures by transmission electron microscopy technology” for College of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of SZU.

 

On December 23rd, professor Anhony H.C. Huang from UC Riverside held two lectures, which were“Past, Present and Future of GMO crops/foods.” And “Workshop for budding scientists: Preparing Vitae, personal statement, cover letter, interview, etc.” for College of Life Sciences and Oceanography of SZU.

 

On December 24th, Dr. Drik Jan Koah, ambassador of natural resources from Ministerie, together with his three colleagues visited SZU. Relative principals from International Office, College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering welcomed the guests.

 

On December 24th, professor Cao Yi from Karolinska Institutet gave an academic report on “Tumor angiogenesis and metabolic diseases” for Optoelectronic Technology and Innovation Center of SZU.

 

On December 24th, professor Zhu Jianhua from City University of Hong Kong delivered an academic lecture on “Ten pairs of Contrary relationships in Social Network Analysis” for College of Management of SZU.

 

On December 24th, professor Lin Minpei gave an academic lecture on “Assessment, precaution and intervention techniques of Internet addiction” for College of Psychology and Sociology of SZU. Professor Lin comes from the Department of Education Psychology and Counselling in National Taiwan Normal University, and the department and university are the leading ones in Taiwan.

 

On December 24th, professor Lai Fuxiang from Hong Kong Polytechnic University gave an academic lecture on “Wavefront Engineering: Shining Focused and Controllable Light in Complex Media” for Nano-photonics Research Center of SZU.

 

On December 24th, professor Alain Craens, professor Justus Grimm and professor Natalie Gordon, who came from Royal Academy of Fine Arts visited SZU. Related principals from Normal College of SZU received the guests.

 

On December 28th, the international famous soprano, professor Dilber Yunus delivered two lectures of Master Vocalist for Normal College of SZU.

 

On December 29th, a professor from Graduate School of Letters in Kyoto University gave an academic lecture on “Learn the development of modern sports through interpretation” for School of Foreign Languages of SZU.

 

On December 30th, associate professor Xu Zhou from College of Business Administration in Hong Kong Polytechnic University delivered a lecture on “The new method of berth allocation problem in container terminals” for College of Civil Engineering of SZU.
