News Update

 On October 9th , associate professor Huang Zhi from Department of Management of Business College at University of Kentucky ,which is in Guyton, the USA, delivered a lecture named A Positional View of Firms’ Reactions to Rankings: Rank Categories and Firm Actions Induced by Category Boundaries”.

 

From October 9th to 16th, a party led by Professor Tao Yitao, deputy party secretary of SZU, went to Russia and Ukraine and some other places for an academic visit. SZU and Scientific Research Institution of Far East in Russia reached an agreement on exchange visits of scholars and the building of academic research platform together. They also talked about the operation of constant development with Architecture Department of Repin Academy of Fine Arts. During the stay in National normal university of Alamarville and Ukraine National Normal University, SUZ signed cooperation framework agreements with both universities.

 

On October 10th, professor Zhi Pinglin from Nanyang Technology University in Singapore came to SZU to hold an academic report about “The storage and exchange of electrochemical power source” for College of Information Engineering.

 

On October 12th, professor Zhang Jiujun, Academician of The Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada, Academician of National Engineering of Canada, Academician of engineering institute of Canada, Member of International electrochemical society, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, came to SZU to give an academic report to College of Materials Science and Engineering. The report was about “The storage and exchange of electrochemical power source: challenge and expectation”.

 

On October 13th, Dr. Haijin Zhu from Advanced Materials Institute which locates in Waurn ponds of Deakin University of Australia visited SZU. He delivered an lecture around “Novel Organic Ionic Plastic Crystal Electrolyte Materials for Energy Applications” for Institute for Advanced Study of SZU.

 

On October 13th, professor LIE—LIANG YANG from University of Southampton paid a visit to College of Information Engineering of SZU and gave a lecture on “Enabling Techniques for Radio Access in Ultra-Dense Wireless Networks”.

 

On October 16th, professor Jon Garibaldi who comes from The University of Nottingham was invited to give an academic lecture entitled “Modelling Expert Variation in Human Decision Making” for College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

On October 16th, Dr. Han Zuilhof, from Wageningen University, delivered an academic lecture named “From Surface-Bound Organic Chemistry to Romantic Materia” for College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering of SZU.

 

On October 16th, professor Joseph M. Betz gave a lecture on “Botanical Products in the U.S.: Scientific and Regulatory Perspectives” to SZU Health Science Center. And professor Joseph M. Betz comes from Science university of Philadelphia.

 

On October 16th, professor Harry H. S. Fong from University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Joseph Betz, NIH officer, gave a lecture on “Search For Botanical Based Medicine: Reflections Of A Near 6-Decade Odyssey” at SZU Health Science Center.

 

On October 17th, professor Anderson S L Gomes visited College of Optoelectronic Engineering of SZU and talked about “Random Lasers and Random Fiber Lasers: From nanothermometry to optical turbulence”. And he comes from Federal university of Pernambuco, Brazil.

 

On October 17th, a senior research assistant fellow from Trinity College Dublin organized a lecture on “optical nonlinearity of two-dimensional materials and inspiration of carrier dynamics” for College of Physics and Energy of SZU.

 

On October 19th, Cathy Berx, governor of Antwerp, Belgium came to SZU with the company of 25 fellows. Professor Liu Hongyi, party secretary of SZU, met with them.

 

On October 19th, professor Qin Qinghua who comes from Australia National University hosted a lecture on “Acoustic and seismic characteristics of metamaterials” for School of Civil Engineering.

 

On October 20th, Dr. Deruo Cheng of College of electrical and electronic engineering of Nanyang Technology University gave a lecture entitled “A Hierarchical Multi-Classifier System for Manufactured IC Analysis”.

 

On October 20th, Dr. Xu Saihua of College of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Nanyang Technology University delivered a lecture named “Recursive Filters for Compensating the Mismatch in Time-Interleaved ADCs”.

 

On October 20th, professor Reed Miller from Yale University organized a lecture on “Analytical Methods of Urban Economic Environment System” for School of Civil Engineering of SZU.

 

On October 20th, vice president of law school of University of Hong Kong, professor Fu Hualin gave a lecture on “The cooperation way and future of China’s International criminal justice” for law school of SZU.

 

On October 20th, professor Chen Huabei, former vice secretary of the Education Department of State Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, the director of The Information and Research Center of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China, held a seminar about the “111” plan of SZU. Vice president of SZU professor Du Hongbiao and Professor Wang Hui attended this meeting.

 

On October 21th, professor Anderson S L Gomes, who comes from Federal university of Pernambuco, Brazil visited College of Optoelectronic Engineering of SZU and gave a lecture on “Biophotonics Applications of Nanoparticles and Optical Coherence Tomography”.

 

On October 23rd, professor Tu Jun from Li Guangqian Business College in Singapore Management University came to International Business School of SZU to hold a lecture on” Purging Investor Sentiment Index from Too Much Fundamental Information” .

 

On October 23rd, professor Dennis A. Carson from National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and American Institute of Medicine held an academic lecture on “A New Approach for Discovery of lmmunotherapeutic Drugs” at Health Science Center of SZU.

 

From October 23rd to November 3rd, assistant professor from Bond University, Jin Can visited College of Mathematics and Statistics of SZU.

 

On October 25th, vice professor, Itoya Sanmaro, came to Special Economic Zone Research Center of SZU to give a lecture on” Shenzhen as an Innovative City: Hardware ecosystem and beyond manufacturing”. And he comes from Institute of Social Sciences at University of Tokyo.

 

On October 25th, professor Susan L.Tjghe, vice president of University of Waterloo in Canada, accompanied by four of his colleagues visited SZU. Vice president Du Hongbiao met with them. Relevant principals from International Office, College of Computer Science and Software Engineering, College of Civil Engineering and College of Chemistry and Environment Engineering participated in the reception.

 

On October 25th, professor Wang Jiantai delivered a lecture about “The cultural characteristic of traditional sports of Taiwan” for Sports Department of SZU. He is the former president of Sports History Association in Taiwan, and a professor from Shu-Te University.

 

On October 25th, Nylam Gauthier, principal of France High Education in Guangzhou, visited College of Foreign Languages of SZU and held a lecture on “cross-culture communication about France ---The things you want to know in France”

 

On October 26th, professor Nguyen Quang Kim, president of Vietnam University of Hydraulic Engineering, visited SZU with four of his colleagues and signed cooperation agreements on both the university level and college level. Vice president Du Hong bin met with them, and International Office and College of Computer Science and Software Engineering participated in the reception.

 

On October 26th, professor Jianhua Tang from Seoul National University delivered a lecture named “On the Interactions of Communication, Computing and Caching in Cloud RAN under Two Timescale” for College of Information Engineering of SZU.

 

On October 27th, professor Duan Cunming who comes from University of Michigan held a lecture on “The life under hypoxia: expose the secret of animal’s hypoxic molecular mechanisms” for College of Life Sciences and Oceanography of SZU.

 

On October 27th, Dr. Jun Yuan from New York University organized a lecture on “Electron vortex beams: take an electron for a spin” for The research center of nanophotonics of SZU.

 

On October 27th, vice professor Xia Yong from Hong Kong Polytechnic University held a lecture on “The cultivation and curriculum evaluation system for students in Hong Kong Polytechnic University based on Washington Agreement” for College of Civil Engineering of SZU.

 

On October 30th, professor Maciej Zukowski, president of Poznan University of Economics in Poland, visited SZU with three of his colleagues. Vice president Du Hongbiao met with them. Relevant persons from International Office, College of Economics and College of Management also attended this meeting.

 

On October 31st, associate professor Julian Lamb who comes from The Chinese University of Hong Kong came to School of Foreign Languages and held a lecture about “Shakespeare and skepticism”.
