◆South Australia-China Business Research and Development delegation visited SZU.

◆The delegation of SZU visited colleges and universities in Argentina and Cuba.

◆SZU signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the University of Sydney and Huaqiang Group. And it was called the "Huaqiang - China and Australia Voice Rehabilitation Medical Cooperation Center".

News Update

On May 3rd, Dr. Chen Yaoju from the Bryant & Stratton College of the United States paid a short visit to the College of Mathematics and Statistics of SZU, and Dr. Chen focused his attention on the "Thousands Talents Program" and other related issues. 

On May 6th, Mr. He Zhisen visited our College of Architecture and Urban Planning and gave an academic lecture named “ Mapping Workshop—My Nomadic Teaching Practice in China". Mr. He is the co-founder of the Urban Informality Lab in Australia, and he is an Academic Director of Fei Jian Architects and a doctor of architecture in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University.

On May 8th, Prof. Clifton F. Conrad from the School of Education in the University of Wisconsin-Madison visited our Normal College and gave them an academic lecture named "Lessons from American Higher Education".

On May 9th, Prof. Haibin Yang from the City University of Hong Kong held an academic seminar entitled "From Collaboration to Competition: Strategic Alliances and Product Market Competitions" in the College of Management of SZU.

On May 9th, Lecturer Nie Ciyu from Nanyang Technological University gave College of Mathematics and Statistics of SZU an academic report entitled "Network Risk Management: The Optimal Combination of Network Risk Management and Network Risk Insurance”.

On May 9th, South Australia-China Business Research and Development delegation visited our university. Our Vice President Wang Hui and the superintendent of International Office, Ministry of Science and Technology and other related institutes met with them. They were Fiona Cochaud who is the Deputy Consul General of the Australian Consulate General in Guangzhou, Alexandra Reid who is the Vice President of Development Department in South Australia, and James Sun who is the Director of the Chinese Affairs Office of South Australian Development Department.

On May 9th, Prof. Yang Haibin of the City University of Hong Kong held an academic seminar entitled "Attacking Your Partners: Strategic Alliances and Partners Competitions Product Markets" in the College of Management.

On May 10th, Prof. Clifton F. Conrad from the School of Education in the University of Wisconsin-Madison visited our Higher Education Research Institute, and had a talk with some of our teachers.

On May 10th, Prof. Clifton F. Conrad from the School of Education in the University of Wisconsin-Madison held an academic seminar with the theme of “The‘Big Pictureon’Qualitative Research: From the Burning Question(s) Design”in Normal College.

On May 10th, Researcher Hu Zhongxu of the Newcastle University held an academic report named "A DSP Implementation of the Control of a MEMs Ring Gyroscope" in our College of Physics and Energy.

On May 11th, Prof. Clifton F. Conrad from the School of Education in the University of Wisconsin-Madison held an academic seminar called“Conducting Qualitative Research”in Normal College.

On May 12th, Assistant Professor Lv Shijie from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill came to our College of Management and held a lecture entitled "A Two-Sided Market Analysis of Targeted Display Advertising".

On May 12th, Associate professor Zhang Jiheng held an academic seminar with the theme of "Managing Perishable Inventory Systems as Ones Non-perishable" in College of Management, Professor Zhang comes from the Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

On May 12th, Prof. Hans M. Wyss organized an academic salon entitled "Surprising Effects in Soft Matter, Unraveled Using Simple Experiments" in our Health Science Center. He is a professor from the Department of Materials Science orthe College of Mechanical Engineering at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and the Research Institute of Complex Molecules.

On May 12th, a Senior Researcher from the University of Southampton in UK named Kevin Chung-Che Huang visited our College of Optoelectronic Engineering and held an academic report entitled "Evolution in Functional Chalcogenides and Emerging 2D Materials".

On May 12th, Associate Professor Zhang Jiheng gave our College of Management a lecture on "Managing Perishable Inventory Systems as Non-perishable Ones", and he is from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

From May12th to 20th,A delegation of 3 led by Prof. Tao Yitao discussed with University of Buenos Aires and Cuba Information Technology University respectively for exchange and cooperation program, including teachers’ visiting, personnel training, scientific research, etc, our university signed a Cooperation Framework Agreement with them respectively. Prof. Tao Yitao is the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and the Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of SZU. She is also the director of the China Special Economic Zone Research Center, as well as the Dean of the "Belt and Road Initiative" research institute.

On May 13th,SZU signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the University of Sydney and Huaqiang Group. It was called the "Huaqiang - China and Australia Voice Rehabilitation Medical Cooperation Center". People attending the meeting included the Vice Mayor of Shenzhen Wu Yihaun, the Deputy Consul General Paul Sanda from the Consul General of Australia Consulate General in Guangzhou, the President of Sydney University Michael Spence, the President of Shenzhen University Li Qingquan, the Chairman of Shenzhen Huaqiang Group Liang Guangwei and other relevant leaders of Sydney University, Shenzhen University and Shenzhen Municipal Government.

On May 15th, Associate Professor Hendrik Tieben (Tian Hengde) conducted a lecture entitled "Comparison of Urban Design Guidelines of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao" in College of Architecture and Urban Planning. And the professor is from the School of Architecture at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

On May 16th,Prof. Chen Xiaodong of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore presented an academic report entitled "Rational Design of Structural Materials for Functional Flexible Devices" for our Optoelectronic Technology Collaborative Innovation Center.
On May 16th, Dr. Gu Zhen delivered an academic lecture entitled "Leverage Physiology for Bioresponsive Drug Delivery" in Health Science Center. Dr. Gu Zhen is the Associate Professor of the School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also an associate professor in the field of Pharmaceutical Engineering at the Department of Joint Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina, and the Director of Biomedical Innovation Conversion Degree.

On May 16th,Prof. Lin Jincai from the Department of Education of Tainan University held an academic salon entitled "Postgraduate Career Development and Educational Research Methodology" in Higher Education Center.

From May 16th to 21st, Prof. Yashadatta Somaji Alone from the College of Aesthetics and Art at Jawaharlal Nehru University visited SZU. Our Vice President Wang Hui met with them. People attending the meeting also included some superintendents from the School Library, the International Office, the Germany Freiburg Asia and Buddhism High Institute and India Research Center as well. Deputy Director named Zhu Li of Shandong Education Press also attended the meeting.

On May 17th, Research Assistant Dai Yushuang from the University of Cambridge visited our College of Mathematics and Statistics and held an academic report on "Large Eddy Simulation of Labyrinth Seals and Rib Shapes for Internal Cooling Passages" .

On May 17th,our Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Hongyi visited Rao Zongyi Academic Center at the University of Hong Kong for academic exchange and cooperation, together with Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee named Wang Rongxing, former Vice President Li Fengliang, who is the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Southern University of Science and Technology, and Director Tian Qibo of the Department of Social Sciences.

From May 17th to 19th, Prof. Dr. Haiyan Hu-von Hinüber paid a visit to SZU and had a spectacular academic exchange. Mrs. Hu is a Chinese-German scholar, a famous Indian scientist, a Buddhist philology expert and a professor of the University of Freiburg.

On May 18th, Associate Professor Yang Haosheng from the Miami University in Ohio, America, visited our College of Humanities and conducted a lecture on the theme of "An Obsession with Bones: Yu Dafu's Admires on Adherents and Old Poems".

On May 18th, Foreign representatives, such as Marie Christine,Thierry Bataille, Virginie Alonzi and Amélie Achard, and superintendents of our International Office, Shenzhen Nante Business School,Audencia Business School and 12 representatives of Chinese entrepreneurs held a forum together. The theme of the forum is social responsibility of corporates and the sustainable development of urban and construction. Marie Christine is the French head of World Wildlife Fund; Thierry Bataille is the General Manager of Renault Motor Electric Business Development; Virginie Alonzi is the Director of the long - term strategy of the French Bu YI Gt Construction Company, and Amélie Achard is the International Affairs Manager of Urban and Sustainable Transport Industrial Park.

On May 19th,Dr. Sun Zhenglong from University of Hong Kong organized a lecture entitled "Sensing Technology in Robotic Surgery and Medical Interventions" at our College of Electromechanical and Control Engineering.

On May 19th,Associate Professor Yang Haosheng from the Miami University in Ohio, America, visited our College of Humanities and conducted a lecture on the theme of "Revolution and Body - The Image of the Martyrs in Post-Revolutionary Chinese Films".

On May 19th, Tenured professor of Finance named Tu Jun delivered a lecture on "Market Sentiment and Paradigm Shifts in Equity Premium Forecasting" at SZU’s China Overseas Interest Research Center. Prof. Tu is from the College of Business at Singapore University of Management.

On May 19th, Prof. Yashadatta Somaji Alone from the College of Aesthetics and Art at Jawaharlal Nehru University held an academic lecture on “The Revival of Indian Modern Buddhism” for our Indian Research Center.

On May 19th, SZU held a foreign affairs work conference of the first half of 2017 academic year. And our Vice President Wang Hui attended the meeting, together with the leaders of Foreign Affairs in every college of SZU, Foreign Affairs Secretary and all the staff of the International office.

On May 20th,Li Hua held an MBA lecture on the theme of "China ‘He ' innovation and its Peaceful Rise” in College of Management. He is the founder of Cambridge China Innovation Institute and the Distinguished Professor of the University of Pennsylvania.

On May 22nd, Rinsen Segal, the Chief Technology Officer of Brainsway, held an academic lecture entitled "The Technology and Application of Deep Skull Magnetic Stimulation" at our College of Psychology and Sociology.

On May 22nd, Prof. Zhang Jian gave our Institute of Aesthetics and Literary Criticism an academic lecture entitled "Poetry as a Person", and Prof. Zhang is from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

On May 22nd, Tenured professor Huang Kun from the Ohio State University visited our Health Science Center and conducted an academic lecture entitled "Integrative Genomics Approach for Precision Medicine in Cancer".

On May 22nd,a party of 31 teachers and students of the University of Michigan Business School  visited our College of Management for learning and exchange. And the relevant superintendents of College of Management met with them.

On May 22nd, Prof. Li Zhilan from the Department of Public Policy of Hong Kong City University came to our College of Management and attended a series of academic lectures of the 20th anniversary of its establishment, famous teachers and universities forum.Moreover, he also held No. 33 lecture of Public Management and Social Governance Innovation Forum of College of Management of SZU .

On May 23rd,Dr. Yuan Zhen from the University of Macau came to our College of Optoelectronic Engineering to hold an academic report entitled "Quantitative Photoacoustic Tomography".

On May 24th,Prof. Zhang Yueping, who comes from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, gave ourCollege of Information Engineering a lecture on the theme of "Antenna in Package: From Basic Concept to Mainstream Technology".

On May 24th, Prof. Chen Xiaoyuan of the United States National Institutes of Health conducted an academic lecture entitled "How to Write a Scientific Paper" for our Health Science Center.

On May 25th, accompanied by 30 members of Shenzhen Exchange Group of Taiwan Youth Science and Technology Innovation visited SZU, in the company with Deng Zichao who is the Deputy Secretary General of the Cross - Straits Relations Association. superintendent of our International Office and Student Entrepreneurship Park discussed with them.

On May 26th,Dr. Jiafeng Zhou from the College of Electrical Engineering at the University of Liverpool in UK held an academic lecture entitled "Wireless Charging and Real-time Monitoring of Implantable Devices" for our College of Information Engineering.

On May 26th, SZU held an appointment ceremony and appointed the Nobel Prize winner Barry Marshall as our Distinguished Professor. Relevant people attending the ceremony included: Prof. Barry Marshall, our President Li Qingquan, Vice President Wang Hui, Prof. Chen Siping who is the counselor of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and other relevant school leaders.

On May 26th, Nobel Prize winner Prof. Barry Marshall came to Health Science Center and held an academic report entitled "The driving force of owning the Nobel Prize for Medicine".

On May 26th, recommended by Consul PVManoj of the Indian Consulate in Guangzhou, the Executive Director and Doctor of Sociology Saju MD in Rajagiri College of Social Sciences and its International Affairs Contactor Mr. Kiran Thampi visited our India Research Center to discuss the signing of cooperation agreements with SZU. Superintendents of the International Office met with them.

From May 26th to 28th, seven relevant people from our College of Management went to Sichuan together to attend the AACSB Accreditation Seminar held in Chengdu, with the intention to learn the AACSB accreditation standards systematically in order to lay the foundation for their AACSB accreditation.

On May 27th, a Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Implementation of the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People 's Republic of China was held grandly at the East Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. And five scholars from Hong Kong and Macao Basic Law Research Center and the College of Law at SZU attended the meeting.

On May 31st, Prof. Cao Xinyu from School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota organized a lecture on "Methodology Evolution of Community Satisfaction Research" for our College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

On May 31st, Prof. Sun Yuyu from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell gave a lecture entitled "Antimicrobial and Biofilm-controlling Biomaterials" to our College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering.

On May 31st, three people led by Prof. Zhang Jie who is from the China Development Center of Buffalo State University in New York visited our Normal College and relevant leaders of  the college met with them.

On May 31st, Prof. Ji Qinghua and 28 students from the California State University-Long Beach visited our College of Management for learning and exchange activity. Relevant leaders of the College of Management and 29 students participated in it.
